Hi...I know the fiance visa for my girlfriend would be £1200, this is alot of money!!!
If the application fails (for example you forget to include 1 document), does it mean you've lost your £1200.
In such a scenario do you have to start the 2 to 3 months processing time again and pay the whole £1200 fee again?
Also, If she fails her A1 English Test, can we postpone the application until she passes?

Also...in a straight forward application (no previous divorces, all documents and evidence are good). How long in practice are you waiting for the Fiance Visa? 3 months? 2 months? is it usually sooner than 2 months?

As stated above by Y-ola, failed application means no money back, re-apply, pay again..

Rule of thumb, make sure that she has passed her English test BEFORE applying..

Ensure that the application contains ALL relevant documents, better to include more than less.

Applications for a fiancé visa is taking about 6 weeks currently to my knowledge, on applications which are straight forward.

Good Luck..

If she is over here on a visit visa there is no issue with sitting the exam in the UK. A visit visa allows you to study for up to 30 days as long as it is not the main purpose of the visit. As to level, the higher the better. Minimum is A1 to get a fiancee visa and convert it after marriage to the 30 month visa. After 30 months the next 30 month visa requires A2 and after that it is ILR and that requires B1 plus Life in the UK test.

As to working, no work is permitted on a fiancee visa. Once you have converted it to a 30 month visa after marriage your wife can work - not from the date of marriage.

It takes time and patience, as well as a healthy bank balance. Good luck

just one more question ... I know the Fiance Visa can take up to 3 months to be processed. Would this mean my girlfriend would be stuck in Russia without her passport for up to 3 months?
