Has one been there recently to Lugansk (Luhansk) and did you need to have a Russian visa or without and entered through Ukraine .?

Hello Kevin.

For you information British Citizens now do not need a visa to travel to the Ukraine.

Please click this link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visa_requirements_for_British_citizens

After the Wikipedia website opens click on the (3 visa requirements link on the beginning of the web page) and then scroll all the way down to Ukraine and it states
"visa not required - 90 days - 90 days within any 180 day period"

Lugansk is in "Rebel" held territory, and I would suggest that entry from the Ukraine side might prove extremely difficult...
I don't know if one can enter from Russia..
However, I would NOT travel there at the present time...

Hi Mel Thanks for you notes on this . I have spoken with several Russians who have been to Lugansk and Donestk and all seemed to go to Rostov On Don then by train and change train at the border so I asked Ukraine Consulate in London and after 2 weeks of phoning and emailing there was no answers and like wise the UK embassy had no humans answering the phone and you got reverted back to gov web site.
So I just applied for a new Russian visa and will see how it develops and if approved.
