No we start afresh at Chatsworth, but it does mean if you get another yellow there's no venison pie for you!

ianf7525 - 2009-06-24 6:39 PM Well if we go there straight off our holidays I can't guarantee anything home made, but I guess we could call in at the Farm shop and get a dozen Chatsworth Venison Pies, if that's okay? :>

Also whats happening with lunch/entertainment?
I count over 20 now so is it bring your own or are we going to have one big picnic with people all chipping in (more fun)

Don't know everybody elses feelings about it, but even though the 'one big picnic' sounds great in theory, will everyone only bring what they like anyway, and want to eat/drink that? and could it lead to a bit of 'we brought more than they did'?
Sorry to be a party pooper. just a thought.
what does everyone else think?

Bring whatever you want, just bring extra. As you say I think that everyone will bring what they like to eat and drink. If people wish to share their wares then that is up to them but I am sure that all will not mind bringing a little extra to put into the pot to share. The "we brought more than they did" is a child thing and anyone who does think like that and say it is nothing more than a child.
So peeps what do you say? 1000 sausage rolls, 300 pork pies, 2 dozen quiches and 57 packets of crisps that no-one likes!
Personally when I go on a picnic I always take twice as much as will be eaten and drunk so from my point there will be plenty to go round.
So are we in agreeance that we will be having 1 big picnic without any arguements or disagreements?
What would be good is if someone has a stable paste up table or 2 to put it all on and does not mind bringing it (them)? Sorry I don't have one.
As for entertainment I am sure we will all put on a big show lol

p.s. no smelly egg sarnies please!

Just wondering about the whole picnic table thing... not sure how happy the Duke would be with people skipping through the garden with tables in hand.

Does anyone know about admitance tickets for the gardens is it once your in, your in or can you nip back to the car and get your lunch etc once you've toured the house?

When we have done the whole bring to share thing before its always worked well as people always bring enough to feed an army though you do worry you will end up with 100 fairy cakes and a packet of walkers instead of a variety.

As it says on the site when you goto book your tickets "Fabulous rooms, unique treasures, new displays, audio tours, and unlimited access to the 105 acre garden, with waterworks, sculptures and maze"
Normally when you go to view such a house you pay once on the gate to get in and you can roam freely back and forth all day, anyway it says "unlimited access". If still in doubt either call them or ask on the day.
Ok maybe not the tables but picnic blankets all round.
Only 3 weeks to go!
