Yes, it's all very confusing. Lots of different information. So- some are saying that when you leave Moscow you need to have the original registration with you to hand in. If not, then you miss your flight. Others have said that this is not the case.

Basically, I'll be exiting Moscow on March 9th. I have a copy of my registration. Do I need the original? Or will RR de-register as they always have before?

Hi,

This will depend on what visa you have, the info available to me at this time is that ONLY if you are on a "Specialists visa", or a standard "work visa", you have to hand in your migration card "Registration doc", upon exiting Russia..

If you are on a Business or Tourist visa, the new rules do not apply to you, and RR will de-register you as normal..

Your best bet will be to give RR a call tomorrow, and they should be able to confirm this...

HTH

Thanks, I've heard this but as I said there are many different versions out there. I'll ask RR tomorrow. I think this whole thing has been spectacularly messed up. C'est la vie.

Could not agree with you more on this....

I am of the opinion, that once the Russians get their new "All singing and dancing" computer system up and running, they will include all types of visa within this de-registration at the port of exit......

We will just have to wait and see....

Dont ask us! (joking)

Every time we try to clarify what is going on we get a different answer - as usual the Russian authorities have no idea what is going on.

The truth will only become clear with time - all we can do is let you know the current situation as it stands and keep you updated as it goes on.

We are still supporting our clients with registration, both those who have applied before the new rules started and those after.
