Hi all,
I am trying to gauge how long I should give myself from landing in Moscow to catching a train?
I dont know if immigration is easy or difficult in Russia? I dont want to miss my train but I also dont want to sit for hours waiting for my train at the station.

Tips please

Thanks,
Vince

Can't answer the question without knowing more info....Which airport, what time of day are we talking about landing at the airport and of course which train station are you going to catch your train from?

Get an overnight flight to DME and you can pretty much get through passport control in 20mins (or even much better). Allow another 10-15mins for your bags to turn up. Other times of the day best to multiply those times by 2.

Train schedules from DME to Central Moscow can be found here...

Allow 10mins to walk from international flight arrivals to the train departures.

It's the sitting at the station for hours that troubles me, is this just someone trying to get from the airport to the city or another destination? And I wouldn't assume he landing at Domodedovo.

Depends how familar the OP is with Moscow, I don't mind having several hours to kill going between the airport to getting on the train but I tend to head straight to the station I am departing from, leave my bags at that station, go around Moscow normally involves stuff like get breakfast/get registared at Real Russia/go to Red Square, then collect my bags again before I leave.
The worst bit in my opinion is getting onto the Metro with suitcases.
