Member Posts: 24 | Thought I’d offer a quick introduction as I’ve been following the threads on this for a while. No doubt I’ll be trying to pick peoples brains / experiences over the coming months around a UK Visitor Visa for my Russian lady – I’m already planning on using Real Russia to obtain the visa. I met said lady in June and I have just today returned from my second Russian visit today after spending another 11 great days together. I’m 39 she is 29 and the plan is for her to visit the UK October / November time. If she likes the UK during this visit we need to figure where to go from there. We both have jobs and I could act as a sponsor for this first visit and subsequent visits (if it goes to plan). Probably lots of questions to follow …..

As far as the initial visas go, take into consideration that the main issue is that onus of providing the correct information is on the applicant, as a sponsor you can assist in the visa application but from a legal point of view all that you can do is assist.
You did state that you will be using RR for the visa application as long as you (and your G/F) pay attention to the advice given by RR the visa (visitor) should not be a problem.

Expert Posts: 1777 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hi there and welcome to the forum. We were always advised a visitor visa for boyfriend and girlfriend would always be very difficult unless you had known each other 2 years - this being the time from when you first met each other and not from the first time you started speaking to her. Things might have changed, this was over 2 years ago, unfortunately it might have changed for the worse as this government is a bit tighter on immigration. Can she proove she has a job and does she own her own appartment? These appear to be the 2 things which override most things on the form.

Member Posts: 24 | Thanks CDG - I spoke to RR on the phone and they seemed to think the length of time would be OK (although the website does say 6 months). I'm in London today so am thinking of popping in for a chat with the RR guys to get the ball rolling (and to pay;-)

Member Posts: 24 | Went in to speak to the London Real Russia people and ended up just speaking to the Russian office on the phone ..... Still the Visa has been paid for and I suppose the hard work is about to start. Although my lady friend speaks good english there are certain things that might be better explained via the Russian team in her own language.
