Real Russia specialises in travel services and visas for business people and tourists travelling to Russia and neighbouring countries. With its sales & marketing head office in Loughborough, Leicestershire, the company has operations and sales offices also based in London, Moscow, Volzhsky in Russia and Timisoara in Romania.

The Product Manager will be responsible for developing and launching profitable new products, which will have a competitive advantage and will fit the need of a specific target audience – e.g., B2B clients – Student Travel Association, International Rail; corporate clients visiting on business through to B2C clients visiting as an experience and holiday.

The Product Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day activity around pricing, packaging, the quality and suitability of suppliers (product offering & physical evidence) and the places the product will be available. They will liaise with the marcomms team for the promotional support they need. Based in our Loughborough office, the Product Manager will be part of the company’s sales and marketing team reporting to the Sales and Marketing Director. There will be an immediate requirement for the successful application to prepare standard operating procedures (SOP), and documentation, around launching new products, customer communication issues and pricing processes. Basic duties include:
a.Providing the sales teams with the necessary information to enable them to sell the products. This involves printed and electronic promotional material, product training and any helpful FAQs.

b.Reviewing existing product information to ensure the sales teams are kept up to date on new developments regarding the companies or competitors products.

c.Act as point of first reference for all product related enquiries and work collaboratively with colleagues in operations and sales to address any issues that may arise. You will be the internal and external product ambassador, requiring occasional work directly with customers to sell and promote your product ranges.

d.Close liaison with the sales and operations teams to assess the response to and suitability of current promotional collateral (website and literature) and make recommendations to ensure what is required to maximise its affect.

e.You will work with marketing communications to define the promotional plan for your product range, helping them understand the positioning, key benefits, and target customers. You will work with the marcomms team to implement specific promotional activity for the product range including e-shots, pr, social media marketing, website, promotional literature.

f.Design market research projects to assess customer attitudes to the current product range, product life cycle and new product introductions. Research may be conducted with in-house staff or via an outside agency. Review results and recommend action plans from the research. Using customer research, competitor analysis and in-house feedback to identify enhancements or innovative new product solutions.

g.Support the Sales and Marketing Director in setting and managing sales targets for the product range, developing and implementing any marketing and promotion plans. A system to record and provide regular management reports of sales data will need to be implemented and maintained.

h.Responsible for preparing product forecasts, competitor analysis to advise on pricing and constantly monitoring sales/margin levels.

i.Review and monitor sales activities to ensure correct messages around the product range are being maintained. We operate a system of recorded telephone calls and shared emails to track customer communication.

j.Ensure company standards and corporate image is consistently and accurately maintained across the product area.

k.Any other reasonable duties required by the company consistent with the role and duties.

Person Specification includes:
a.Ideally, holding a professional marketing qualification, with at least 5 years marketing experience, of which at least 2 years should have been supporting product marketing.

b.Experience of working in a travel, technology or professional services market is ideal but not essential.

c.Excellent communications skills – both written and verbal with excellent command of the English Language, with the ability to translate technical information from non-English speakers into easy to understand, friendly information for customers.

d.Analytical ability with advanced spreadsheet capability, numeric and analysis skills.

e.Experience of working across different currencies and the impact this has on pricing.

f.Excellent time management and project management skills to ensure critical deadlines are adhered to.

g.A self-starter, motivated able to work in a fast paced environment with the ability to be pro-active with a sense of urgency.

h.Good interpersonal skills and commercially astute.

i.Experience of marketing services online would be beneficial but not essential.

j.Knowledge of the Russian language would be beneficial but not essential.
