Member Posts: 16 | Hi guys, I'm flying into Moscow on Monday and would like to take some fissures for the fold or there, but with all the tit-for-tat import bans at the moment I'm finding it hard to learn if there are restrictions on personal. Like, fruit, cheese, maple syrup, etc. Or are the bans purely on commercial imports? Hope you can shed some light on this )) Rich ![]()

Like, fruit, cheese, maple syrup, etc. Or are the bans purely on commercial imports? Hope you can shed some light on this )) Rich ![]() I cannot tell you exactly what the current situation is, the previous ammount of good allowed to be brought in "For personal use" was set at 1,500 euro in value, and there was talk that this was to be/has been reduced to 1,000 euros in value. There are regulations on the import also for personal use of fresh good, and some dried goods. My step daughter will be arriving on monday morning, and she is bringing with her some foodstuffs which will be in tins, jars, and/or vacum packed, in the past she has encounted no problems whatsoever, but we will see if she gets through ok soon... There is no problem here with buying fresh fruits and other fresh goods here, the supermarkets and shops have full shelves, and the normal varieties, but that is now, who knows what the future will bring... I bought yesterday, English cheese and Irish butter, there was more than enough on the shelves... BUT STILL NO MARMITE or BRANSTON PICKLE....... HTH Edited by Mel 2014-08-30 9:14 AM

About the same amount as my step daughter... Lets hope that all will be ok.... I have only heard a report about someone being stopped trying to bring in some smelly fish from Norway, others on another forum tell that they have had no problem to date...

Think they didn't like the fact it was not french (small f) cheese. On the Russian ban on imports its about the silliest home goal ever. Great way to continue to beat up your own population along with the continued brainwash. Sad little imp Putin is.
