I agree but what would you do if your country had been treated the same way by the Russians? However, I completely understand why Russians are so angry, after all, Estonia chose to collaborate with the Nazis during the war.
Very emotive subject but I can see both sides.

That said, I do think that Estonia has behaved appallingly over this just so they can get back at Russia. I also think they are hiding behind the EU because they would never have done such a thing before they were members of this wonderful organisation.

I dont think we are in any position to criticise Estonia. Estonia and the other Baltic countries were in a no win situation during the second world war, and suffered greatly at the hands of the Red Army and the Nazis. Malcolm, to say the whole country collaborated with the Nazis over simplifies the situation. They suffered under Stalin, so naturally hoped things would improve under the Nazis, even if this did prove unfounded. If certain politicians in this country had had their way we would have also collaborated with the Nazis. I personally think that if they want to remove a monument to whatever its entirely up to them.
